Courage Required

Posted on

Hey Girl,

Is courage required to face what’s ahead of you?

Joshua needed courage when he was camped out at the bank of the Jordan River. The Israelites had been wandering in the wilderness for 40 years and were on the brink of taking possession of the Promised Land. They had been at this border once before, but had unwisely refused to obey God and enter the land.

This time had to be different. They needed to settle in their new home, which was God’s promised inheritance to them. And Joshua was the one to lead them there.

Clearly, Joshua needed encouragement to face this daunting task because God told him, “Be strong and very courageous, that you may observe and do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go” (Joshua 1:7).

God was not sending him in to fail. God was sending him in to succeed!

And like Joshua, God wants you to find success in life.

Keep in mind that the Biblical idea of success is different from the world’s interpretation of it. It isn’t money, power, or fame. It also isn’t avoiding criticism or being elevated to a place of prominence. Success is discovering your God-given gifts and using them to fulfill your God-given destiny.

You can't just stumble into Biblical success. To possess it, you must pursue it.If you want a deeper relationship with the Lord, pursue it. If you want a happy marriage, pursue it. If you want to get out of debt, get that degree, master that skill, or own your own business, you’ve got to pursue those things!

Most people want to wait until they have all their ducks in a row, until everything is just right to move forward. But the conditions are rarely perfect.

So take action now. If you are to find success, you can't wait until your ship comes in. You must find the courage to go out and meet it!

Love you,
Christine 💛
